Child Play, the complete children's drama program - "children can do everything "

About Us

Child Players ACT is a family-run children’s amateur theatre group. Our main program is the Child Play program developed by BJ Anyos, our Artistic Director. This program gives children aged 10-16 a unique opportunity to learn all aspects of theatre with training provided in both acting and back-stage skills.

This program has been running since 2005 with a major production in the July school holidays each year. In 2017 we will be performing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl, which will be the 12th Child Play production.

We also run a two-week program in January each year which enables children aged 8-16 to develop their acting skills and take part in a full-scale theatre production.

We are based in Downer with rehearsals held at the Downer Community Centre. Our January shows are held in Canberra Rep’s Theatre 3 and the July productions at the theatre@bcs in the Belconnen Community Centre.

Our programs are very popular and fill quickly, especially the January program.
